What is the Senior Citizen Tuition Free Policy for Curriculum Courses?

Per General Statute:  G.S.  115D-5(b)(11)

A legal resident of North Carolina age 65 or older shall be eligible for the waiver of up to six hours of credit instruction per academic semester.

If a senior citizen receives a waiver for a class and then subsequently drops the course after the first day of class, the waiver is considered used and cannot be applied to another course.

If a senior citizen registers for more than 6 hours, they are responsible for payment of the additional hours and the associated fees.

****This waiver cannot be used for self-supporting courses***
